Christmas House Decorating Contest

One thing you can't always count on in N.S. is the weather. Despite the high winds and wet weather, the Decorate for Christmas gathering at Partridge Nest Park went ahead. We had to cancel the bon fire and the hot chocolate because of the conditions, but we still had donuts (courtesy of Porters Lake Superstore) and about 50 people still showed up at the park. Thanks to Clare O'Brien for taking the time to organize the event.

The judges (Councilor Keith Colwell, Superstore Manager Darren Matthews & Bel Park Principle Shelly Scribner) said they had a much tougher time deciding on the winners this year then they did last year. They also commented that there were a lot more homes decorated this year.

The winners were:

1st Place	167 Candy Mountain Road - Frank & Heather Martin won a $25 gift certificate from Porters Lake Superstore, a Garden Wreath from Porters Lake Home Hardware, a large pizza with the works from PJ's Mystic Grill and a mug from HRM.
2nd Place	6 Stillwater Court - ?? won a $25 gift certificate from Porters Lake Superstore, a Seagull Pewter Ornament from Maryann's gifts (Cole Harbour) and a mug from HRM.
3nd Place	2 Riverfront - Clare & Shawn O'Brien won a $25 gift certificate from Porters Lake Superstore, a $10 gift certificate from Triple A (Lake Echo) for a movie rental & snacks and a mug from HRM.
